Click-Through Rate (CTR) Calculator

Turn clicks and impressions into a click-through rate.

Click-through rate

Click-through rate (CTR) is the share of people who clicked after seeing your ad, email, or search listing. It's a core signal of how compelling your creative and targeting are. Enter clicks and impressions to get your CTR as a percentage.

How to calculate ctr

Formula

CTR = (Clicks ÷ Impressions) × 100

Divide clicks by impressions and multiply by 100. A higher CTR usually means your message and audience are well matched, and on paid platforms it often lowers your costs because engagement improves ad quality scores. Read CTR alongside conversion rate — a high CTR that doesn't convert can signal a mismatch between the ad and the landing page.

Example

An ad got 450 clicks from 100,000 impressions.

CTR = (450 ÷ 100,000) × 100 = 0.45%.

Frequently asked questions

Benchmarks vary by channel: paid search often sees 2–5%, social display ads frequently sit below 1%, and email campaigns commonly land around 2–3%. Compare against your own history and channel norms rather than a single number.
