Cost per click
—
Cost per click (CPC) is what you pay, on average, each time someone clicks your ad. It's the headline number for search and paid-social budgets and a key input to profitability. Enter your total spend and clicks to get your average CPC.
How to calculate cpc
Formula
CPC = Total ad spend ÷ Clicks
Divide your total ad spend by the number of clicks it produced. Rising CPC can mean more competition, a lower quality score, or audience fatigue. To keep it sustainable, watch CPC against the revenue each click ultimately generates — a higher CPC is fine if those clicks convert well.
Example
You spent $1,200 and received 800 clicks.
CPC = 1,200 ÷ 800 = $1.50 per click.
